TI.EMME.TI Snc di Lucia Tenuta & C. was established in 1995 in Pozzuolo Martesana, a small town near Milan. It comes into the world as a small family business, specialized in finishing monotubes.
In February 1996 starts the working activity. TI.EMME.TI acts primarily under contract as a supplier for Tessilgomma srl, market leader in the production of EPDM and silicone tubes and monotubes for ironing systems. Its job is to carry out finishing operation and wiring. The staff counts only 4 persons, but the number is expected to grow.
During the years, the business grows and in 2000 everyone feels the necessity of a big change. TI.EMME.TI moves in the near facility of via Puecher and conceives and commissions the first semi-automatic finishing machine. Thanks to this new machinery, which is able to cut and perform the first finishing operation on the monotube, handwork is ready to become a thing of the past.
In 2002 Tessilgomma Srl is absorbed by a bigger company leader in the market of silicone and TI.EMME.TI starts to work for them as an exclusive supplier. Customers change, but not company’s values, always aiming for quality and innovative technical solutions.
In 2004 TI.EMME.TI hires more people and takes over all the equipment for the production of monotubes in order to expand its offer in the market. TI.EMME.TI family now counts 8 persons and the company starts moving the first step in the production of monotubes.
In February 2005 Franco Tenuta leaves his previous job and takes over 90% of TI.EMME.TI share, bringing in skills and capabilities developed through years of experience in the industry. Thanks to his genius TI.EMME.TI deposits its firsts patents: overmoulded sleeves and quick connection. In the same year TI.EMME.TI Snc changes business name, becoming TI.EMME.TI SRL: the company is now ready to become a leader in the market.
During 2006 TI.EMME.TI’s turnover rises substantially thanks to the collaboration with a company from Bergamo to which TI.EMME.TI hands part of the braiding process. Some famous brands of the industry become clients and the company starts thinking about gaining a Quality System Certification.
Since 2008 TI.EMME.TI has a new home: the facility in via Guido Rossa – Melzo (MI), where the company has its headquarters still today. This change leads to further improvements: TI.EMME.TI buys a new extrusion machinery for silicone and the staff increases to 12 persons. In September of the same year, TI.EMME.TI finally gets the ISO 9001 certification: the company has now what it takes to compete on the international market.
In order to optimise its energy consumption and lower the environmental impact, in 2011 TI.EMME.TI acquires a new photovoltaic system with a total power of 80 KWh. Thanks to the deep understanding of raw materials and the knowledge of the finest working techniques developed during the years, in the same period TI.EMME.TI designs, patents and realizes a new consumer product: it’s an original silicone eyeglass hang-up called O-OK.
It is but a short step from eyeglass hang-up to reading glasses: in 2013 TI.EMME.TI starts to market a new product line of reading glasses, sunglasses and frames with brand O-OK, attending the most important exhibitions of the industry.
In 2016 the company receives the contribution of fresh energies to experiment new point of views: Andrea and Alessandro, sons of Franco Tenuta, start working in TI.EMME.TI to grant continuity and to promote new strategies within the globalized marketplace.
On January 2018 TI.EMME.TI acquires 100% of Michielin Srl, founding NUOVA MICHIELIN SRL in order to expand its offer and reinforce its position on the market.
TI.EMME.TI acquires a new facility in Settala (MI) with a total size of 6000 sqm, merging previous sites of Melzo and Vimodrone, in order to keep its growing process by always adding new productions.
